Hospitality company, Delaware North, has celebrated a triumph for its work at CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park this year, taking home a top gong at the 2022 Restaurant and Catering Awards for Excellence.
The Awards, held at Federation Square’s Zinc function space, featured a slew of Victoria and Tasmania’s best and brightest in the industry, celebrating both outstanding contributions and dedicated service amongst restaurant, café, and function venues.
Taking out the top place in the Functions/Convention Centre Caterer category, the win celebrated Delaware North and CENTREPIECE’s partnership, highlighting their dedication to providing world-class culinary service and proving the importance of creating immersive, memorable, and authentic hospitality experiences in a post-pandemic world.
Category judging for the awards was based primarily on CENTREPIECE’s hosting of the Committee for Melbourne event in April this year. The event, specially designed to reflect the hosts’ aspirations to embed sustainability in every decision, transformed the CENTREPIECE space and transported guests on an immersive journey with bespoke food and drink experiences spread across the evening. Featuring an interactive whisky and cheese bar spotlighting Melbourne whisky stalwart Starward Whisky as well local gourmet cheeses, the night allowed guests to mingle and converse whilst enjoying unique dining experiences.
The event’s menu also highlighted CENTREPIECE and Delaware North’s dedication to a Victorian first approach, spotlighting local produce throughout the three-course feast. With a delectable, pan-fried potato and local Meredith Persian feta gnocchi starter, a grilled Victorian Angus beef sirloin main and a ginger and Melbourne Rooftop Honey crème brulé dessert, guests’ tastebuds were whisked around the state over the course of the evening. Local matched wines and Victorian craft beers and ciders further complimented the experience.
